Sales Information
- Reservations will be taken, at no charge, for gender and breeding pair, however, we reserve the right to retain any kid.
- A 50% deposit, paid by PayPal or check, is required to hold a kid, with the balance paid by PayPal or cash at pick-up. Should a kid, held on deposit, die or fall ill, the buyer has the right to a refund, or to choose another kid. The buyer has the right to request a veterinarian health certificate, at the buyer’s expense.
- All sales are final, but we encourage communication should there be issues of concern, or if we can be of assistance with re-homing, should the need arise. Sunflower Mountain Farm does not guarantee the future show-worthiness, milk production or adult conformation of the kids, as diet and herd management, along with genetics, are major influencers as the goat grows to maturity, at 2-3 years of age.
- Herd adults are tested annually for CAE and Johne’s. Please review our current test results here.
- Goats are herd animals, therefore any kid leaving the farm must be one of a pair, unless the kid will be joining an existing herd at the new home.
- Kids are dam-raised and are ready to leave the farm at 12 weeks of age, unless arrangement is made to leave as bottle babies. Travel to a new home is very stressful for a goat, especially a kid. Sunflower Mountain Farm will not be responsible for the health of your kids or adult goats once they leave the farm. If these are your first goats, we encourage you to research fully goat husbandry, and establish a relationship with a farm vet with knowledge of goats, to assist you with medical care. In addition, we appreciate the opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with you.
- All horned kids will be disbudded by 2 weeks of age, unless prior arrangement is made before or at birth, and non-refundable, full payment for the kid will be required by 2 weeks of age.
- Wethers will be castrated at 8 weeks of age, by a side crusher emasculator, which performs a bloodless castration, crushing the spermatic cords without cutting the skin.
- Registerable kids will be tattooed prior to leaving the farm, and will be provided with online ADGA registration/transfer for ADGA members, or a paper ADGA registration application and bill of sale, for non-members, for Nigerian Dwarf; or with MDGA registration or copy of pending registration and bill of sale, for Mini LaMancha, KGBA for Kinder.
